In balmy central Iowa, it appears as if March has come in like a lamb this year...and the ushering in of warmer weather also brings the threat of severe weather. NOAA Severe Weather Spotter Training has begun. These classes are a great weather refresher for new and veteran pilots alike. The Boone Municipal Airport has much going on right now, with new upgrades to our ramp area ongoing. You can take a look via the Boone Airport “Skycam” on this home page. As always, many local and transient aircraft, skydiving activities and National Guard operations are taking advantage of some unseasonably mild weather, so come out and watch a variety of aircraft using the airport. And, please stop on in for a fresh cup of coffee and some “hangar flying” with local pilots.

Springtime also signals the start of the ever-popular flight breakfast season. You can check the Iowa Department of Aviation’s calendar of events for state-wide flying events.

CY Aviation's Cherokee Archer was recently fitted with some exciting new avionics, including a Garmin 430 GPS and Aspen Pro 1000 Primary Flight Display. Give Connie a call to get the anticipated date of its return to rental/training availability.

For active fliers, CY Aviation offers flight training, biennial flight reviews, IFR refresher training and TOL currency. Be sure to let us know if we can assist you with your currency requirements.
