About CY Aviation

CY Aviation, Inc. was established by Connie Younger in 1990. Our goal has always been to provide first-rate customer service in a friendly hometown atmosphere. Aside from excellent aircraft maintenance and flight training offerings, our clients enjoy unmatched hospitality, from that daily cup of morning coffee to Boone Area Pilot Association events throughout the year, and social activities such as hangar dances and flight breakfasts. If you haven't visited us yet, we hope you will.

Staff

Being the Friendliest Little Airport in Iowa doesn't happen all by itself; it takes dedicated staff. We look forward to serving you.

Connie Younger, Owner. Connie first fell in love with flying after a four-year tour of duty with the US Navy as a naval musician. After the service, he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Northwest Missouri State and his Master's Degree in Aerospace Education from the University of Miami-Ohio. Connie also earned a variety of pilots' licenses and found employment as a glider flight instructor with the University of Illinois' Institute of Aviation in Champaign. This experience led to an Assistant Professor's position at Iowa State University in Ames, with the University's FAR Part 141 flight department and the department of Industrial Education. Connie served as Chief Flight Instructor and corporate pilot at ISU for 21 years, flying the Beechcraft KingAir 200, the Rockwell Aerocommander AC500 and the Cessna 414. He also instructed in seaplanes and gliders during the summers and earned his Airframe Mechanic's license as well. Since taking early retirement from ISU in 1997, Connie has continued to explore new flying adventures. He is an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner and in 2010 completed his fifth season as an aerial tour pilot for Kantishna Air Taxi in Denali National Park, Alaska.

Dave Morgan, Office Manager. A Boone native, Dave has been with CY Aviation since 1997. He is active in all facets of our operation and consistently provides outstanding customer service to our clients.

Bob Jones, Chief Mechanic. "BJ" has been employed at the Boone Municipal Airport since 1979, and is known far and wide as an excellent mechanic. He has been A&P IA (Airframe and Powerplant, Inspection Authorization) certified since 1995, and has remained current with both annual IA and Cessna refresher courses. Bob is also a commercial instrument pilot.
